A great place if you’re feeling a bit peckish!

Whenever S walks in the neighbourhood of the Norther Quarter, this restaurant with a big chicken outside has always caught her eyes. Therefore, S decided to try this place tonight!

You can only make a reservation if you have 6 or more people, therefore, S just walked in. The restaurant was quite spacious and was not too crowded.  The decoration was cute and really “northern quarter” if you get what I mean.

The menu was quite simple with the choice of a few a la carte dishes or a £10 standard set that included chicken, a sauce of your choice and customisation options for the chips. Since it is now the Christmas period, the restaurant also had a special menu but S couldn’t find it online. There were decent amount of options for drink menu, however, S usually just gets a lager in general.

The chicken was smoking hot when it was served so S could tell it was fresh, however, the chips were a bit cold compared to the chicken. Overall it was still good. The batter was thin and not too greasy, and the chicken itself was tender. The smokin’ aces sauce was not too spicy for S but still tasty and had a good kick afterwards.

Last but not least, the chicken blanket from Christmas menu!!! S wanted to try it since she saw it on Instagram, and it didn’t disappoint her at all! The chicken drumsticks were super tender when wrapped in bacon, it was just like an early Christmas.

If you’re in the neighbourhood and just want a quick bite, and don’t want to wait long. Yard & Coop could be one of your options! Furthermore, the £5 lunch menu seems to be a really good bargin, and I would definitely pop in just for a quick lunch. Don’t worry if you’re not in Manchester, Yard & Coop also has branches in Leeds and Liverpool! If you want some quick bite in NQ, you can also check out the burritos from Lust, Liquor and Burn which is just close by.
