Korean Honey Soy Garlic Fried Chicken Recipe (Not Spicy)

Korean fried chicken without the heat 🍗
If you love Korean fried chicken but don’t like the spiciness, this recipe is definitely something that you will love! I love that the sweetness of the honey mellows out the saltiness of the soy sauce, along with a little hint of garlic.
This chicken goes perfectly with a bowl of rice, or just by itself, with a couple of pints of course 🍺

Korean Honey Soy Garlic Fried Chicken
- Serves:
- 1-2 (over rice)
- Prep Time:
- 1 Hour 10 Minutes
- Cooking Time:
- 15-20 Minutes
Ingredients
Instructions
- 1Marinate the diced chicken with the garlic, salt and pepper, and cooking liquor for at least 1 hour.
- 2Coat the chicken with the flour and cornflour, mixed 1:1.
- 3Prepare the honey garlic sauce: mix the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar and garlic.
- 4Deep fry the chicken bites at 170°C for 4-5 minutes.
- 5Deep fry the chicken bites again at 180°C for 30 seconds.
- 6Heat up the sauce in a frying pan until it thickens a bit, then add the fried chicken and mix well.
The sauce is a 3:3:1:0.5 ratio of soy sauce, honey, brown sugar and garlic, so it’s easy to make more or less. In the photo I sprinkled some sesame seeds on top and served it over rice with pak choi.
